A TYPICAL DAY (PRESCHOOL)
Each day at Farm School is different! This schedule is meant to give a taste of the activities a child might enjoy on a given day, but by no means represents the full range of experiences that children get to take part in.

-
Children arrive between 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m., Monday through Thursday.
-
Around 10:00 a.m. children gather to mark the day of the week on the calendar, sing the months of the year, and talk about colors, numbers, letters, phonics and more. They describe the weather based on what they feel and see in the sky.
-
Afterwards, students take part in an art project in small groups or even one-on-one, depending on the complexity of the project. Often, these projects use the farm as inspiration. Children may paint with mud to render a "dirty dog" or use watercolors to draw what they see around them. Afterwards, there is story time with the whole class.
-
Around 11:30am, children wash up and enjoy lunch for about 30 minutes, remaining seated until all students have finished eating. Children are encouraged to use their manners when asking for second helpings, using phrases like, "May I please have more...?" and "Thank you."
-
After lunch, children exercise, drink water, and settle down for afternoon naps.
-
When they wake up, they return outside to snack, play and complete projects they started in the morning.
-
The children start getting picked up around 3:00pm and Farm School closes at 5:00pm.
